Our client APS, Australasian Protective Services (ABN 69 084 470 995) is a Premier Security Company and it is a 100% Australian owned company that provides customisable solutions, including cash in transit, physical manpower presence and technology security solutions to their clients all across Australia. They specialize in tailored electronic security solutions for organizations of all sizes and industries. Electronic security refers to the utilization of advanced technology, such as CCTV cameras, electronic alarm systems, and drone technology, to conduct comprehensive security checks on premises. APS assures safety and security and it is their top priority. Due to the business growth and expansion plans, USVD is now looking to recruit 02 (two) Electronic Equipment Trades Workers in their Technology team on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to: Managing Director/ Technology & Cyber Security Leader

Direct Reports: None

Role purpose: 

Electronic Equipment Trades Workers install, maintain and repair electronic equipment and systems such as audio and visual reproduction equipment, home entertainment systems, computers and electronic security systems.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

As an Electronic Equipment Trades Worker, your duties includes:

  • Installing, configuring and commissioning electronic equipment such as CCTV systems, security alarm systems, access control systems, audio-visual equipment, communication systems and electronic control devices.
  • Examining and testing electronic systems and components to diagnose faults using specialised diagnostic tools and electronic testing instruments.
  • Dismantling faulty equipment, identifying defective components and repairing or replacing circuit boards, wiring, connectors, sensors and electronic modules.
  • Reassembling equipment and conducting functional testing to ensure proper performance and compliance with operational specifications.
  • Reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, schematics and technical manuals to perform accurate installation and troubleshooting.
  • Performing routine servicing and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and reduce equipment failure.
  • Installing and terminating structured cabling and low-voltage wiring systems in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Maintaining documentation including service reports, installation records and compliance documentation.
  • Advising clients and end users on correct system operation, maintenance procedures and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring all work was carried out in compliance with WHS regulations and relevant Australian Standards.

Annual Salary:  AUD $75,000 – $80,000 base + Super (for a 38-hour work week).

Skill & Experience

Qualification & Licences:

  • Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Electronics engineering.
  • At least 3 years of proven work experience in installing and maintaining electronic equipment or systems.
  • Strong fault-finding abilities and familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of WHS requirements, particularly in industrial and construction environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
