Job Description

The ICT Business Analyst identifies and communicates with users to formulate and produce requirements specifications for the development of system and software solutions. The role involves analysing business processes, evaluating existing ICT systems, and designing functional solutions to meet business needs.

The ICT Business Analyst acts as a central reference point between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that ICT systems align with organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The ICT Business Analyst performs tasks including, but not limited to:

● Working with users to formulate and document business requirements

● Identifying, investigating, and analysing business processes, procedures and work practices

● Identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices and improved system functionality

● Developing functional specifications for use by system developers

● Using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for system design and development

● Consulting with users and programmers to design improvements to the functionality of systems, applications, and websites

● Using project management methodologies, principles and techniques to develop project plans, and to cost, resource and manage ICT projects

● Taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, including creating and implementing system test plans to ensure quality and integrity

● Creating user documentation and training materials, and conducting formal training sessions

● Acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in system project decision-making

Skill & Experience

  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills

  • Ability to analyse business processes and identify improvements

  • Experience with data analysis and system evaluation

  • Knowledge of project methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
