Job Description

Location: Canning Vale, WA 6155

Seeking full-time Chefs

Tea Garden is a busy and well-established restaurant specializing in Malaysian cuisine. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate must be available to work both day and night shifts, including weekends. The candidate must hold a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (Diploma highly regarded) and have at least 12 months of relevant employment experience working in a similar busy commercial kitchen operation.

The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of various popular Malaysian cuisines, strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices, and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Good communication and teamwork skills are also essential.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high food quality standards and supporting the day-to-day kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organise food preparation and cooking activities
• Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service periods
• Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
• Assist in menu planning and development
• Support stock control, ordering and inventory management
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment

Skill & Experience

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (Diploma highly regarded)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
