Job Description

Position overview
We are seeking a full‑time Cook experienced in Indonesian cuisine to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Indonesian dishes to consistent quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indonesian dishes according to our recipes and standards
Plan, portion, and prepare ingredients, sauces, and accompaniments for service
Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation during service
Ensure correct use and storage of ingredients, including spices, pastes, and marinades commonly used in Indonesian cuisine
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work area in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist with stock control, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock (FIFO)
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures at all time

Skill & Experience

Skills and experience required

At least 2 years full‑time recent experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen
Proven experience preparing and cooking a variety of Indonesian dishes (e.g. rendang, sate, nasi goreng, soto, gorengan, etc.)
Strong knowledge of Indonesian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple orders at once
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards in Australia
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
