Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Female Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives. You will provide assistance with daily activities, personal care, mobility, and community participation, ensuring the dignity and safety of our clients at all times. Your work will have a lasting impact, helping to enhance the lives of people with disabilities in a meaningful way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with mobility and transportation to appointments and social activities.
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming if needed.
  • Support clients in the development of life skills, including communication, social interaction, and decision-making.
  • Encourage and facilitate community engagement and participation.
  • Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and their families.
  • Follow individual care plans and ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the clients’ needs and preferences.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and services provided.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the well-being of clients at all times.

Skill & Experience

  • Experience in disability support work or a related field is preferred.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients.
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate is preferred (or willing to obtain).
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is desirable.
