Job Description

Seeking Multiple Experienced Disability Support Workers for immediate start to provide high-quality care and support services to adults with disabilities and complex support needs in the Blacktown – Penrith areas. Services include Supported Independent Living (SIL), Adult Day Program and Community Access support.

Please note: All staff are required to be available across a variety of shift types, including day, afternoon, and awake night shifts, including both short and long weekday and weekend availability.

About the Role

We are seeking highly experienced and reliable Disability Support Workers for immediate start with strong backgrounds in mental health and complex behavioural support, particularly supporting participants living with schizophrenia and other psychosocial disabilities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting participants to achieve their NDIS goals and increase independence
  • Providing support within Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments
  • Assisting participants with personal care, daily living tasks, meal preparation, and household duties
  • Administering medication in accordance with care plans and organisational procedures
  • Supporting participants to attend appointments, shopping, and access community-based activities
  • Transporting participants as required
  • Managing and responding appropriately to challenging and complex behaviours
  • Completing detailed and accurate documentation, including:
  • Incident reports
  • ABC (Antecedent, Behaviour, Consequence) data collection
  • Shift notes
  • Behavioural observations
  • Other industry and compliance-related documentation

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years industry experience (5+ years highly preferred)
  • Experience supporting participants with:
  • Schizophrenia and complex mental health presentations
  • Challenging and aggressive behaviours
  • Sexualised behaviours
  • Experience working within Supported Independent Living (SIL) settings
  • Medication Administration qualification and demonstrated experience administering medication
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
  • Reliable insured vehicle
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and complete accurate documentation to a high standard
