Full Time Carpenter

Salary Range between $80,000 – $90,000 plus super.

The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out skilled carpentry work across residential construction and renovation projects in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and Australian Standards. Duties include:

  • Determining material quantities and selecting, ordering, and procuring timber and other construction materials
  • Reviewing and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications to identify required materials, determine dimensions, and establish appropriate installation procedures.
  • Measuring, marking out, and setting out layouts in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials, including the formation of wood joints
  • Assembling prepared timber components and fittings for installation
  • Constructing and erecting structural framework for walls, floors, and roofing, including panelised systems
  • Installing sub-flooring, floorboards, fascia, eaves, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, and associated components
  • Installing door and window frames, hanging doors, skirting, and architraves
  • Verifying the accuracy, alignment, and trueness of structures
  • Constructing concrete formwork where required
  • Carrying out repair, rectification, and maintenance work to existing structures and fittings
  • Working with a range of materials including timber, laminates, perspex, plastics, and metals
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and effectively
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of quality and in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
  • Working independently or as part of a team under the direction of the Site Manager or Project Manager

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant carpentry experience
  • Formal training and/or relevant trade qualification in Carpentry (or equivalent)
  • Appropriate licensing where required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform carpentry duties consistent with the ANZSCO Carpenter occupation
