The Role: Lead Cook

We are seeking a Full-time Lead Cook who is dedicated to leading our dynamic kitchen crew through our busy service periods. This individual must possess natural leadership qualities and be highly capable of keeping the crew calm, composed, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead, supervise, and coordinate kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Foster a positive, productive work environment, that keeps the team motivated and focused during peak service times.
  • Excellence Oversight: Oversee all food preparation tasks, including the making of our tortillas, corn chips, authentic salsas, and marinades, ensuring speed, accuracy, and adherence to our recipes.
  • Line Operations Management: Manage and direct line operations during service hours, ensuring dishes are cooked and plated efficiently to our standards of excellence.
  • Quality & Consistency Assurance: Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and organisation in all work areas.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with all kitchen and customer service team members to ensure seamless coordination and efficient service delivery.
  • Training & Coaching of Staff: Train, mentor, and coach kitchen staff, fostering skill development and adherence to our culinary standards.

Skill & Experience

What We’re Looking For: Your Ingredients for Success

  • Experience: Proven experience (2+ years) in a leadership role within a busy kitchen environment, preferably in casual dining.
  • Leadership Qualities: The ability to lead by example, encourage team collaboration, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor under pressure, especially during high-volume periods.
  • Work Ethic: Reliability, punctuality, and dedication to succeed are essential. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to a full-time schedule, including day shifts, evenings, and weekends.
  • Passion for Food: A genuine interest in authentic cuisine and a commitment to cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety standards.
