Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, supervising staff, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality meals. The Sous Chef will assist in menu planning, inventory management, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations

  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to maintain high performance

  • Ensure all food is prepared to the required quality, presentation, and hygiene standards

  • Contribute to menu planning, costing, and inventory management

  • Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations and kitchen safety policies

  • Assist in scheduling staff and coordinating kitchen workflow

Skill & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen

  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills

  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (certification preferred)

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
