We are now seeking a Telecommunications Field Engineer to support our delivery of customized telecom solutions to our clients.
Qualifications
– Diploma or higher qualification in telecom engineering, ICT or similar
– Sophos certification
The Telecommunications Field Engineer is responsible for:
o Supporting the sales teams by providing technical advice and information to prospects and clients to identify and provide solutions to meet business needs
o Planning, designing, commissioning and monitoring telecommunications networks, platforms and portals to meet clients’ current and ongoing needs
o Contributing to business growth by providing feedback on real world scenarios and changing business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Tasks required in the role include:
o Liaising directly with clients to provide technical guidance and recommend solutions
o Install, configure, and commission IP handsets, firewall appliances, wireless access points, network switches and other hardware for business clients
oIntegrate new technologies into client’s existing frameworks
o Maintain and administer telephony platforms and cloud-based platforms
o Proactively identify and respond to service degradation, outages, and performance issues
o Maintain LAN/WAN environments and ensure ongoing network integrity across customer sites
o Perform remote and onsite troubleshooting across telephony, networking, and hardware systems
o Report on infrastructure health, incidents, and resolutions to management as required
o Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and support activities in line with company standards
o Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant Australian telecommunications regulations and standards.
o Maintain currency in the latest telecom technologies and equipment and make recommendations to management as required
Skill & Experience
o 1 to 3 years’ experience in design and commission of a range of telecom technologies in business settings including experience in :
o Experience in the configuration, networking and installation of at least several of the following:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex telecommunications and network issues in the field
o Critical thinking ability to assess infrastructure faults, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions efficiently
o Ability to maintain and administer cloud-based and telephony portals
o Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
o Ability to work independently in the field and schedule and prioritise work
o Working knowledge of Australian telecommunications regulatory requirements and standards
This full-time role will be based at our head office in Bella Vista, Sydney and will attract a base salary of $80,000 + super.
