About This Role:

Our client is a beloved artisan bakery renowned for its commitment to traditional baking techniques and high-quality, handcrafted products. With a passion for creating delicious, wholesome breads, pastries, and desserts, they take pride in using time-honored methods and premium ingredients to deliver exceptional baked goods to their community.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Baker to join their dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of artisanal breads, pastries, and desserts while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and food safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for the art of baking.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Baking:

  • Prepare, mix, knead, and shape dough using traditional methods to create artisanal bread, rolls, and pastries.
  • Monitor fermentation and proofing processes to ensure optimal texture and flavor development.
  • Carefully load, bake, and unload products, adjusting oven temperatures and baking times for perfect results.

Quality Control & Preparation:

  • Inspect raw ingredients for freshness and accuracy, measuring and weighing components to exact specifications.
  • Taste-test and evaluate product consistency, adjusting techniques as needed to maintain high standards.

Equipment & Workspace Maintenance:

  • Conduct thorough checks of baking equipment and work areas before production to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Clean, grease, and maintain baking trays, tins, and machinery to uphold hygiene and operational efficiency.
  • Operate dough mixers, rollers, and cutting machines safely, ensuring proper handling and maintenance.

Skill & Experience

  • Proven 1- 2 years’ full-time experience as a Baker in an artisanal or commercial bakery setting.
  • Qualification Certificate III in Baking or above
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, fermentation, and dough handling.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene best practices.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy baking equipment.
