Shed Manager – Savage Farms (Newry, VIC) Salary: $73,150 per year (excluding superannuation) Hours: Full‑time, 38 hours per week Location: 466 Upper Maffra Road, Newry VIC 3859 Business: Savage Farms – Vegetable & Horticulture Production
About the Role Savage Farms is seeking a full‑time Shed Manager to oversee daily operations in our vegetable packing shed. The role is responsible for coordinating workflow, supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient movement of produce from harvest through to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise packing shed staff and allocate daily tasks
Oversee washing, grading, sorting, packing, and labelling of produce
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and farm machinery as required
Maintain hygiene, cleaning schedules, and food safety standards
Complete quality assurance checks and production paperwork
Manage stock rotation, storage, and dispatch preparation
Monitor workflow to ensure efficiency and minimise downtime
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
Liaise with farm management regarding daily production needs
Skill & Experience
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a horticulture, agriculture, or packing shed environment
Ability to supervise staff and coordinate daily operations
Strong understanding of produce handling, hygiene, and quality control
Ability to operate forklifts and machinery (or willingness to obtain licence)
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physical environment
