Job Description

CWC Lube Mechanical Services needs a qualified motor mechanic (ANZSCO 321211 ) at our workshop in Newman WA 6753. This is a full-time position performing servicing, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a range of light and commercial vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Australian safety standards.

Salary mentioned is exclusive of superannuation and aligned with market rates.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using manufacturer diagnostic systems, scan tools, and workshop testing procedures.

  • Carry out mechanical repairs and component replacements on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems.

  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, and system checks to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation.

  • Test and quality-check vehicles following repairs to confirm performance, safety, and compliance with roadworthiness standards.

  • Conduct inspections to identify faults, maintenance requirements, and safety issues, and report findings as required.

  • Safely operate hoists, diagnostic equipment, and workshop tools in line with WHS procedures.

  • Complete job cards and service documentation accurately, detailing work performed, parts used, and repair outcomes.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.

  • Support workshop operations by assisting with tyre replacements and responding to vehicle breakdowns when required.

Skill & Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification (AQF Certificate III or higher, or equivalent overseas qualification), or at least three years of post-qualification experience in a similar role

  • 2–3 years of relevant work experience in a motor mechanic role.

  • Valid C-class driver’s licence (manual licence preferred).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment.

  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and professional standards.

  • Physically fit to work on a workshop environment.
