Job Description

The Role:

The Sales Recruitment Manager is responsible for leading Smart Energy’s national Lead Generation recruitment function, ensuring every office has the talent required to achieve its growth and performance targets. Working closely with the National Recruitment Manager, this role oversees the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent attraction, candidate management, onboarding, retention, and recruitment team performance.

By partnering with Sales Managers and Regional Leaders across the business, the Sales Recruitment Manager plays a critical role in forecasting hiring demand, maintaining a strong national talent pipeline, optimising recruitment processes, and supporting the ongoing growth of Smart Energy’s sales operations. Through effective leadership, coaching, and stakeholder engagement, this role directly contributes to building high-performing teams and driving the company’s continued national expansion.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and support the Lead Generation recruitment team.
  • Assist with daily recruitment meetings and training sessions.
  • Support implementation of recruitment KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Deliver recruitment reporting and hiring insights.
  • Foster a high-performance recruitment culture focused on quality, accountability, and speed.

Data & Reporting

Track and report on: Time to Hire, Cost per Hire, Source Effectiveness, Retention Rates, Recruitment Funnel Conversion Ratios

Use recruitment data and insights to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for Lead Generation roles nationally.
  • Execute hiring plans aligned with business growth targets.
  • Manage candidate pipelines through Lever ATS and sourcing platforms.
  • Conduct interviews, assessments, and candidate screening.
  • Coordinate onboarding and candidate experience.
  • Build and maintain future talent pipelines.

Recruitment Marketing

  • Create engaging job advertisements across Seek, Indeed, Facebook, LinkedIn, and additional sourcing channels.
  • Develop attraction strategies targeting school leavers, backpackers, hospitality professionals, retail talent, athletes, and sales professionals.
  • Manage recruitment campaigns and analyse performance metrics.
  • Support the growth of Smart Energy’s employer brand nationally.

Workforce Planning

  • Forecast hiring requirements alongside Sales Managers and Regional Leaders.
  • Monitor Lead Generator-to-Specialist ratios nationally.
  • Proactively identify recruitment risks and staffing gaps.
  • Support office expansion and new office launches.

Retention & Performance

  • Monitor retention trends and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct new starter surveys and feedback sessions.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve onboarding outcomes.
  • Analyse attrition and recommend solutions.

Skill & Experience

YOU MUST HAVE (EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE)

  • Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or workforce planning, ideally within a high-volume, target-driven environment.
  • Experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Previous leadership or team management experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold recruiters accountable to performance targets.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, partnering with hiring managers and business leaders to forecast hiring needs and deliver recruitment outcomes.
  • Experience building and maintaining talent pipelines for high-growth or rapidly scaling businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with recruitment metrics, reporting, and workforce planning data to drive hiring decisions.
  • Experience creating and managing recruitment advertising campaigns across multiple platforms, including Seek, LinkedIn, Indeed, and social media channels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vacancies, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence candidates and internal stakeholders alike.
