About the Role
Australian Nursing and Community Services (ANCS), Community Worker provides direct care and community support to NDIS participants with varied and sometimes complex needs. 

You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team focused on client wellbeing, inclusion, and capacity building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-focused support services consistent with individual NDIS goals and care plans, in both individual and group settings.
  • Assist clients in developing life skills, personal independence, and social participation through programs, activities, and community engagement.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources, services, and programs that promote inclusion, self-reliance, and broader participation.
  • Provide practical help with daily activities, personal development, and community living arrangements for individuals and groups.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, carers, allied professionals, and community organisations to coordinate effective service delivery.
  • Observe, document, and review client and group progress, changes in needs, and overall wellbeing to inform planning and service improvement.
  • Advocate for participants’ rights, dignity, and safety while ensuring ethical, inclusive, and confidential practice.

Skill & Experience

About You
Essential Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Disability, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience providing direct support to individuals with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Working knowledge of NDIS standards, community inclusion principles, and person-centred approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
  • Current First Aid & CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Driver Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.

Desirable

  • Additional training or experience in behaviour support or trauma-informed care.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or sleepover shifts as required.
