We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Electrician to join our team. 

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, connecting, commissioning, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment, wiring and control systems across residential and commercial environments.

The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, the ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical diagrams, and a commitment to performing all work safely and in accordance with relevant electrical standards and regulations. The successful candidate will also be required to diagnose electrical faults, undertake repairs and ensure electrical installations operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, circuit and wiring diagrams, equipment schedules, cable schedules and technical manuals.

• Install, repair, maintain, modify and test electrical and electrotechnology systems and equipment.

• Install and maintain wiring, switches, power outlets, circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures and related components.

• Measure, mark out and plan electrical installations in accordance with project requirements and technical specifications.

• Select, measure, cut, terminate and connect electrical wires and cables to circuit breakers, transformers and other components.

• Connect electrical systems and equipment to power supplies and verify that all connections are safe and secure.

• Test electrical circuits and installations for continuity, resistance, insulation and compliance with relevant standards.

• Diagnose faults in wiring, electrical equipment and control systems, and complete necessary repairs or modifications.

• Inspect completed work for defects, faults and safety issues, undertaking corrective work where required.

• Perform all electrical work safely and in accordance with applicable regulations, standards and workplace procedures.

• Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, testing, repairs and maintenance.

• Liaise with clients, contractors and other trades to coordinate work and resolve technical issues.

• Keep tools, equipment and work areas safe, clean and serviceable.

Skill & Experience

  • AQF Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, including relevant on-the-job training; or
  • AQF Certificate IV in a relevant electrical/electrotechnology qualification; or
  • At least 1 year of relevant electrical experience.
  • Relevant electrical licence or registration as required by applicable Australian legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to install, connect, test, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical safety requirements and relevant Australian electrical standards.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to use electrical testing and measuring equipment accurately.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other trades and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
