The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building services, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. The role performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities across electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs of building services, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, wiring, lighting, and associated components.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, sanitary fixtures, pumps, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and company procedures.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, specifications and maintenance documentation.
  • Replace or repair defective electrical and plumbing components and equipment.
  • Test systems and equipment to verify operational performance and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of plant, equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment and recommend repairs, upgrades or replacement where required.
  • Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders and service documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, building standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and spare parts inventory required for maintenance activities.

Skill & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in electrical, plumbing, maintenance, facilities management, or building services environments.
  • A relevant trade qualification is required.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and plumbing faults.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and asset management principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities.
