Job Description

Casual Crane Operator role based in Pinjarra, WA, with the possibility of a full-time or part-time position for the right applicant. Souwest Crane Hire is a specialist crane and lifting services provider operating in Pinjarra, WA and surrounding regions. The company supports a wide range of industrial, construction, and infrastructure projects with reliable, well-maintained equipment from our 20T & 25T Franna’s to our 55T & 130T All Terrain Liebherr Cranes. Key Responsibilities

The Crane Operator will safely operate mobile cranes for lifting, moving, and positioning materials on various job sites. Day-to-day tasks include conducting pre-start checks, inspecting lifting equipment, setting up cranes according to site and load requirements, and following lift plans and safety procedures. The role involves working closely with riggers, site supervisors, and other team members to coordinate lifting operations and communicate effectively via radio or other means. The Crane Operator will complete basic documentation, maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment, and adhere to company and regulatory safety standards at all times.

Skill & Experience

Proficiency in lifting operations, including interpreting lift plans and safely executing lifts.
Experience operating heavy equipment, particularly cranes, in construction or industrial environments.
Knowledge of lifting equipment and rigging gear, and correct use in accordance with load and site conditions.
Ability to perform inspection and basic maintenance checks on cranes and associated lifting equipment.
Valid crane operator certifications and relevant high-risk work licenses as required in WA.
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and safe work practices.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team on busy job sites.
Reliable, safety-focused mindset with attention to detail and situational awareness.
Willingness to work varied hours, including weekends or overtime as project schedules require.
Preference for those with an HR License
