Job Description

First Light Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to support the organisation’s counselling, education, and training services to the community. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth financial and administrative operations of the organisation while upholding the values, vision, and mission of First Light Care.

This is a flexible permanent part-time position (10 hours per week) with the opportunity to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • To assist in preparing annual donation statements and assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice follow-ups and expense payments
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations using MYOB
  • Process payroll, superannuation, leave entitlements, Medicare claims, PAYG, BAS, and STP lodgements
  • Monitor Award updates and maintain compliance with financial and regulatory requirements
  • Review insurance policies and maintain internal policies and procedures
  • Support Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) compliance and liaise with external accountants for annual account reviews

Skill & Experience

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in accounts administration, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role
  • Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of payroll, BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Alignment with First Light Care’s values and mission
  • Understanding of charity or not-for-profit compliance requirements is desirable
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking Chinese is highly preferred
