Role and Responsibilities

• Constructs, installs, erects, renovates, and repairs structures and fixtures using wood, plywood, wallboard, and various other materials, in compliance with drawings and specifications. 
• Interprets and studies architectural drawings and technical specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
• Selects and orders appropriate timber, hardware, and materials, and prepares detailed layouts before beginning construction.
• Cuts timber and other materials accurately, assembles, and nails cut and shaped parts to build structural elements.
• Assembles pre-prepared wooden components to form structures and fittings ready for installation.
• Constructs framework and roof structures, lays sub-flooring and floorboards, and ensures structural alignment and level.
• Installs fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, and frames for windows and doors.
• Cuts and fits timber joints to ensure solid connections in structures.
• Fabricates and installs concrete formwork as needed.
• Perform repair and maintenance work on existing structures and fittings.
• Work with plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals depending on the project requirements.
