About Us

China Garden Restaurant is a well-established and locally recognised Chinese restaurant located in Seaford, Victoria. Situated within a busy suburban commercial precinct in Melbourne’s south-east, we have built a strong reputation for providing quality Asian cuisine and excellent customer service to our local community.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our busy kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will play an important role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our food while working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present Asian cuisine in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Prepare ingredients and ensure food is cooked to the required specifications.
Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations.
Assist with stock rotation, inventory control, and ordering of kitchen supplies.
Inspect food products to ensure freshness and quality.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Skill & Experience

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:

At least one year of relevant full-time work experience as a Cook or
A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or higher) with relevant industry experience.
Experience preparing Asian cuisine is highly desirable.
Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
