Salary $80000 – $85000 +superannuation

 

Summary

The Indian Accent Cuisine is seeking a full-time Chef to help deliver authentic, high-quality

Indian cuisine. You’ll prepare and cook signature dishes, develop seasonal specials, uphold

strict food safety standards, and support smooth, efficient kitchen operations. The role suits

a hands-on chef with solid Indian cuisine experience, strong prep and service discipline, and

a focus on quality, consistency, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Assist with developing and creating new special Indian dishes to ensure a diverse and

appealing selection that meets customer preferences and dietary requirements.

  • Preparing and cooking menu items including dishes according to dietary

requirements

  • Food Preparation – Oversee and ensure all stations are fully prepped before service.
  • Quality Control – Monitor taste, freshness, and presentation of dishes leaving the

kitchen.

  • Food Safety – Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards,

and allergen awareness

  • Stock Management and Budgeting – Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and

minimize wastage

  • Manage relationships with distributors and resolve issues with vendors promptly
  • Responsible for running of all aspects of the kitchen including kitchen cost control

including menu costing

  • Supervise, train, and mentor cooks, apprentices, and kitchenhands to ensure

productivity, safety, and teamwork.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and

compliance documentation.

  • Assist with planning and executing catering or function menus where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of service speed, consistency, and customer

satisfaction.

Skill & Experience

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Relevant Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Relevant one year work experience in Indian cuisine restaurant
