Full time Engineering Technologist

Salary Range: $90,000 per annum plus the superannuation

Duties:

  • Analysing existing engineering technologies systematically and recommending evidence-based modifications to enhance overall system performance and operational efficiency meaningfully.
  • Researching emerging engineering innovations and methodologies, evaluating their practical applicability across relevant technical disciplines and ongoing project implementation frameworks.
  • Modifying and refining established engineering processes to optimise workflow efficiency, reduce operational redundancies, and improve overall project delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Overseeing design drafting activities, ensuring all technical drawings adhered strictly to applicable engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Coordinating estimating and operations control functions, delivering accurate project scoping assessments that aligned with engineering budgets and defined delivery timelines.
  • Providing technical support and professional engineering advice on complex products, systems, and equipment to internal teams and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all engineering activities, project deliverables, and technical outputs maintained full compliance with applicable industry regulations, codes, and engineering standards.
  • Testing newly implemented engineering technologies against defined performance benchmarks, documenting outcomes and recommending corrective actions where technical gaps were identified.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate technological solutions into existing project frameworks, ensuring seamless implementation and operational compatibility.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports, engineering documentation, and project assessments to support informed decision-making across relevant organisational and project stakeholder groups.
  • Applying engineering judgment to evaluate risks associated with proposed technological changes, recommending mitigation strategies aligned with regulatory and project requirements.

 

Skill & Experience

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in an Engineering Technologist or comparable engineering role.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse engineering systems, technologies and operational processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Experience researching and evaluating emerging engineering technologies for application to projects and business operations.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, drafting processes, technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in project estimating, scoping, budgeting and operations control.
  • Ability to test engineering technologies and systems against established performance requirements and document the results.
  • Strong technical reporting, engineering documentation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify technical and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in relevant engineering, drafting, data analysis and project management software.
