Our Client The Trustee for Carringbush Park Trust T/A Matt Laurie Racing is seeking two experienced Horse Trainers to join their team located in Moorooduc VIC 3933. The role involves training, conditioning, and caring for thoroughbred racehorses to maintain peak racing performance and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with veterinarians to monitor and maintain the health, fitness, and overall well-being of horses.
  • Conduct groundwork training to enhance a horse’s manners, behaviour, and performance under saddle.
  • Design individualised training schedules tailored to each horse’s specific needs and goals.
  • Condition horses physically and mentally for racing, competition, employment, or leisure activities.
  • Train and educate riders and stable trainees on proper horse care, handling, and training techniques.
  • Identify and address behavioural challenges using effective and humane training methods.
  • Collaborate with stable staff to manage daily feeding, cleaning, and general horse care routines.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, diet plans, and veterinary care.
  • Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.

Skill & Experience

All applicants must possess a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience in the relevant role and should preferably hold a relevant qualification, demonstrating the necessary industry knowledge, practical skills, and professional competency required to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the position.
