Management Accountant

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to:

• Prepare, review and analyse financial reports, management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash-flow reports.
• Examine the business’s operating costs, income, expenditure, profit margins and financial performance.
• Assist management in preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts and business planning reports.
• Monitor cost centres, business expenses and operational spending to identify financial risks, cost-saving opportunities and performance issues.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for directors, senior management and external accountants where required.
• Analyse sales, labour costs, supplier costs, stock costs, overheads and other financial data to support management decision-making.
• Provide financial advice to management regarding pricing, cost control, cash flow, budgeting and business performance.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, bookkeepers, banks and relevant professional advisers when required.
• Prepare reports on business performance, variance analysis, profitability and financial trends.
• Assist in improving accounting systems, financial processes, reporting templates and internal controls.
• Support management with payroll cost analysis, supplier payment review, BAS preparation support and other finance-related administrative functions.
• Perform other accounting and financial management duties reasonably required by the business.
