Key Responsibilities

The Casual Relief Teacher will provide effective temporary classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering prepared lesson plans and learning activities effectively.
  • Maintaining high standards of student learning, engagement and behaviour.
  • Providing appropriate duty of care and ensuring student safety at all times.
  • Creating a positive, productive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Adapting to different classroom settings, student needs and school environments.
  • Working collaboratively with school staff and contributing positively to the wider school team.
  • Supporting the mission, vision and values of each school.
  • Undertaking yard duty, supervision and other reasonable duties as required.
  • Following school policies, procedures and expectations while maintaining professional standards.
  • Supporting continuity of learning and contributing to the school’s educational goals on an as-needed basis.

 

Skill & Experience

Must hold a recognised teaching degree and current VIT registration. Strong classroom management and communication skills required. Graduate teachers are encouraged to apply.
