Job Description

UPTOWN Barbers is a premium barbershop brand with three Sydney CBD locations and close to 4,000 five-star reviews across the group.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Barber / Hairdresser to join our flagship barbershop at 31 George Street, The Rocks.

This is a senior position within a busy, high-end barbershop serving corporate, professional and international clientele. The successful applicant must consistently deliver technically precise cutting and grooming services while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities

Consult with clients regarding hairstyles, grooming requirements and suitable services.
Provide professional men’s haircuts, styling and grooming services.
Perform skin fades, mid fades, low fades and high fades.
Perform scissor-over-comb and clipper-over-comb cutting.
Provide beard trimming, beard sculpting and traditional grooming services.
Perform hot-towel straight-razor shaves.
Recommend suitable haircare and grooming products to clients.
Maintain accurate client service records and assist with bookings where required.
Maintain workstation hygiene and sterilise tools in accordance with NSW health requirements.
Maintain UPTOWN Barbers’ service, presentation and customer-care standards.
Work effectively as part of an experienced professional team.

Skill & Experience

Qualifications and experience

Certificate III in Hairdressing or Barbering, or a recognised overseas equivalent.
At least five years of post-qualification experience specifically in barbering.
Demonstrated proficiency in contemporary and traditional barbering techniques.
Experience working with premium and corporate clientele in a high-end barbershop environment.
Ability to consistently complete services within a 30-to-45-minute appointment schedule without compromising quality.
Strong verbal English communication skills.
Professional presentation and reliable attendance.
Ability to work in a busy, fully booked environment.
