About the Role

Folk Herbals is Bellingen’s local herbal dispensary. We’re seeking an experienced, qualified herbalist to take a senior role on our sales floor – someone who knows plants well, works with confidence, and can run the dispensary’s day-to-day systems without close supervision.

This is not an entry-level retail position, and suited for someone with experience. You will be a point of contact for the dispensary, and the person we rely on to keep stock, systems, and the shop floor running properly.

Remuneration

Award wage (Retail Level 4) – $29.45/hr weekdays, $36.81/hr Saturdays, $44.18/hr Sundays, plus 12% superannuation.

Working the sales counter as a point of contact for customer consultations, drawing on your herbal training and practice experience
Delivering warm, attentive customer service
Taking ownership of dispensary organisation, including stock control, systems, and day-to-day operations
Managing retail tasks efficiently, exercising your judgement to prioritise and adjust tasks as the day demands

Skill & Experience

Qualifications & Experience

Can prescribe herbs from your qualification or association membership
A minimum of 3 years’ working in a relevant field
Based in or near Bellingen
Available for rotating fortnightly weekend shifts; permanent weekend availability preferred

Skills & Attributes

Strong customer service and consultation skills
High attention to detail; efficient, organised, and comfortable owning systems and processes without close supervision
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive feedback well and adjust to new tasks quickly
Capable of multitasking and staying on track in a busy shop environment
Genuinely systems-minded, not just tidy
Calm and effective under pressure
Disciplined about maintaining existing systems and processes
