About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our technology development team in Adelaide. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, deploying and maintaining software applications and systems, with a particular focus on digital solutions for the healthcare sector.

The role involves full-stack software development, cloud-based deployment, automated software delivery and integration with healthcare systems. The successful candidate will work closely with technical, clinical and administrative stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop reliable and efficient software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Design & Development: Design, develop, modify and maintain software applications and systems, including cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart and backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Testing & Implementation: Conduct software testing, debugging and fault diagnosis, resolve software defects, and implement and deploy applications across development, testing and production environments.
  • Cloud & CI/CD: Deploy and maintain applications in AWS cloud environments and develop and optimise automated CI/CD pipelines for software testing, building and deployment.
  • Healthcare Systems Integration: Develop software integrations with healthcare practice management and clinical systems, supporting the secure transmission and synchronisation of healthcare information.
  • Requirements Analysis: Work with clinical, administrative and technical stakeholders to analyse system requirements and translate healthcare operational workflows into effective software solutions.
  • Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: Maintain technical documentation, monitor application performance, provide ongoing technical support and contribute to the continuous improvement of software applications and development processes, including the appropriate use of AI-assisted development tools.

Skill & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in software engineering, software development or a closely related field.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Software Development: Commercial experience with software development, testing and maintenance, including practical experience with Flutter/Dart and Java/Spring Boot.
  • Cloud & Development Tools: Practical experience with AWS cloud services, automated CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices. Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is highly regarded.
  • Healthcare Technology: Experience working with healthcare software or digital health solutions, with an understanding of healthcare workflows such as patient scheduling, medical records, clinical documentation and billing. Experience with HealthTrack or similar healthcare systems is highly regarded.

Desirable

  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools or AI agents to improve coding, testing, refactoring and development efficiency.
  • Experience with medical imaging data, such as ophthalmology OCT/OCTA data, or clinical research technology.
