Job Description

Support Worker for ACT
– In this role, you will provide direct, person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence, participate in community activities, and improve their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily personal care and support to participants, including assistance with hygiene, mobility, and daily living tasks
Support participants with daily living skills activities, such as:
- Grocery shopping and budgeting support
- Meal preparation, cooking, and baking
- Learning support and skill-building tasks
- Household chores and organisation
Support participants in community access, social activities, and skill-building programs
Assist with transportation as required

Skill & Experience

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field (or working towards one) preferred
Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities highly regarded, but not essential
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (required for ACT-based NDIS roles)
Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration (ACT requirement)
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Valid ACT driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Experience or confidence with cooking/meal prep and grocery shopping support
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting others
