About the Role:
We are seeking a fully registered individual Tax Agent to act as our official Nominee Supervisorwith the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) for our corporate registration.
This position offers a stable hybrid payment structure designed to completely eliminate your professional out-of-pocket overheads while providing a flat-rate workflow. It is perfectly suited for a thorough, system-driven freelance practitioner or a semi-retired accountant looking for a predictable, remote compliance role.
The Remuneration Breakdown:
We believe in fair compensation and want to ensure your professional credentials cost you nothing to maintain. We provide:
- $150.00 Monthly Base Retainer ($1,800 per annum fixed): This is explicitly structured to safely cover 100% of your ongoing individual licensing overheads, including your TPB renewal fees ($247/yr pro-rata), Professional Indemnity Insurance adjustments, and annual Continuous Professional Education (CPE) training modules.
- Flat $25.00 Per Standard Return Reviewed & Lodged: Paid per file on a casual flat-fee basis for performing standard quality assurance, compliance audits, and lodgements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the designated individual Nominee Supervisor for the company’s TPB corporate tax agent license.
- Maintain legal “supervision and control” over an experienced internal tax preparer (10 years of experience) in strict accordance with TPB Information Sheet TPB(GS) 53/2024.
- Thoroughly audit and spot-check draft individual tax returns and workpapers prepared within our shared cloud office environment (Xero Tax / LodgeIt).
- Conduct structured remote quality reviews and compliance check-ins via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Formally authorize and sign off on compliant files for direct electronic transmission to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Skills and Experience Required:
- Must hold an active, unrestricted Individual Tax Agent Registration with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
- High proficiency with cloud-based tax practice management suites (specifically Xero HQ/Tax).
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high compliance accuracy across standard individual files.
- Absolute commitment to risk management, client privacy, and maintaining structured, auditable logs of remote supervisory hours.
