Job Description

Install, maintain, inspect and repair underground electrical systems and equipment.
Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance on underground mining infrastructure.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns on underground equipment.
Maintain underground electrical reticulation, distribution boards, switchboards, cables and associated infrastructure.
Work on underground fixed and mobile plant electrical systems where required.
Install, maintain and troubleshoot pumps, fans, lighting, communications and other underground services.
Carry out electrical isolations, testing, tagging and commissioning activities.
Conduct statutory electrical inspections and ensure installations comply with Australian Standards, WA mining requirements and site procedures.
Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise production downtime.
Complete maintenance records, inspection reports and relevant electrical documentation.
Work closely with supervisors, maintenance personnel, operators and other trades.
Follow site permit, isolation, JHA/JSA and lockout/tagout procedures.
Identify electrical hazards and report defects or unsafe conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain underground electrical reticulation and distribution systems.
Service and repair fixed and mobile mining equipment.
Maintain electrical systems for pumps, ventilation fans, lighting, and communications.
Perform electrical isolations, testing, tagging, and commissioning.
Conduct statutory inspections and ensure electrical compliance.
Respond to breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.
Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, and documentation.
Follow LOTO, permit-to-work, and site safety procedures.
Work safely with supervisors, operators, and other maintenance trades.
