Position Available: Sommelier

Salary: $70,000 – $85,500 + super
Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and maintain the restaurant’s wine list in line with the venue’s concept and standards
  • Provide professional wine service and recommendations to guests
  • Pair wines with menu items to enhance the dining experience
  • Train and educate front-of-house staff on wine, beverages, and service standards
  • Maintain strong product knowledge across wine, spirits, sake, beer, and other beverages
  • Manage wine inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and cellar organisation
  • Build and maintain relationships with wine suppliers and distributors
  • Monitor beverage costs, pricing, and stock control to minimise wastage
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of wines and beverages

Skill & Experience

  • Experience in a wine-focused role, whether as a wine waiter or sommelier
  • Extensive knowledge of food, beverages, and wine
  • WSET Level 3 or CMS equivalent certification
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and public holiday
