About the Role
On behalf of our client—a highly regarded, community-based not-for-profit operating a modern 70-bed residential aged care home in Foster, Victoria—we are seeking a dedicated Nursing Support Worker. Our client’s entire purpose is to provide a dignified life for every person in their care, guided by values of listening, kindness, and finding better ways to work as a team. In this hands-on role, you will deliver essential clinical and personal support that upholds these standards every day.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Personal Care Support

  • Assist residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene, dignified mealtime assistance, and mobility support, always encouraging independence and choice.
  • Measure and record vital signs, weight, and fluid intake/output as directed, noting any changes promptly.
  • Support medication management by providing respectful reminders and assisting with administration under nurse supervision, following all protocols.
  • Assist with basic wound care, applying dressings as instructed, and immediately reporting any changes in a resident’s condition to nursing staff.

Therapy, Rehabilitation & Dementia Support

  • Implement prescribed therapy plans including gentle exercises and mobility exercises, working collaboratively with physiotherapists during treatment sessions.
  • Support residents living with dementia by applying person-centred behaviour management strategies that respect individual dignity and history.

Documentation, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of care provided, complete incident reports and risk assessments as required, and document changes in resident condition or care needs.
  • Follow all infection control protocols (hand hygiene, PPE use) and correct manual handling techniques, promptly reporting hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Provide emotional support through active listening, encourage participation in social activities, and advocate for resident rights in all care decisions.

Skill & Experience

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support (or equivalent) plus 1+ years of full-time aged care/disability experience.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (preferable), current flu/COVID-19 vaccinations, and reliable transport.
  •  A compassionate, communicative team player who thrives in a collaborative, kindness-driven environment.
