Location: Meningie, SA, 5264
Full-Time: Immediate start
Reports to: Aged Care Facility Manager
Job Title: Personal Care Assistant
Salary range: $79,500 – $85,000 depending on skill level + Superannuation
Job Closure date: 30 days

 

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Our client is a leading provider of aged care and rehabilitation services, dedicated to delivering compassionate, person-centred support in a home-like environment. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will empower residents to maintain independence and dignity, working within a collaborative team that values respect, quality care, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care & Daily Living Support

  • Assist residents with showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and privacy.
  • Support individuals during meals, including feeding assistance and monitoring dietary intake.

Mobility & Communication

  • Safely transfer and reposition residents using hoists and mobility aids, preventing falls and pressure injuries.
  • Use clear, respectful communication and adaptive techniques to assist residents with hearing, vision, or cognitive impairments.

Care Planning & Monitoring

  • Participate in developing and reviewing individualized care plans, contributing observations to ensure holistic support.
  • Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition, including any care-related concerns.

Therapy & Intervention Support

  • Implement structured therapy programs for residents with dementia or behavioural challenges, such as sensory engagement and redirection techniques.
  • Assist with prescribed rehabilitation exercises, basic treatments, and administration of medications under supervision.

Therapist Assistance

  • Prepare equipment and treatment areas for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology sessions.
  • Provide direct, hands-on support to therapists during individual or group rehabilitation activities.

Skill & Experience

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in a similar role.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (issued within the last 5 years) is preferable.
  • Up-to-date flu vaccination and full COVID-19 immunisation.
  • Satisfactory police check with no disclosures.
  • Own reliable transportation.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to long-term employment.
