About the Role

On behalf of our client – a leading family-owned farm specializing in high-quality vegetable and root crop production – we are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join their logistics team. This role is integral to moving fresh produce from field to facility, ensuring timely and safe deliveries that support the farm’s reputation for premium quality. You will be operating heavy vehicles across farm sites, packing sheds, and distribution points.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Positioning & Loading:

  • Precisely manoeuvre trucks into position for efficient loading and unloading of bulk produce, pallets, and farm equipment.
  • Operate tipping devices and lifting attachments to safely load/unload potatoes, onions, carrots, and other crops.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle roadworthiness, including brakes, tyres, and lights.
  • Ensure all loads are secured with straps, tarps, and covers per safety regulations to prevent spillage or damage during transit.

Load Management & Documentation:

  • Estimate weight distribution to comply with axle limits and legal load capacities, adjusting placement as needed.
  • Verify loading manifests, inspect produce condition, and collect delivery signatures to confirm accurate shipments.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform regular checks on refrigeration units (if applicable) to maintain cold chain integrity for perishable goods.
  • Report any product damage or discrepancies immediately to supervisors to ensure quality control.

Skill & Experience

  • Current Australian HR or HC license (MC license preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience driving heavy vehicles, ideally in agriculture or fresh produce transport.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission and load restraint systems.
  • Strong attention to detail for paperwork and safety checks.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings during harvest seasons.
  • Relevant qualification to above field.
