Store/Retail Manager

Coober Pedy Cellar Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of its liquor retail operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store operations, improving customer service standards, supporting sales growth, overseeing stock selection, and ensuring the business operates efficiently and in accordance with applicable liquor licensing requirements.

Location: Coober Pedy, South Australia
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent and Ongoing

Annual Remuneration: $80,000 to $86,000 p.a. plus super.

This is a suitable opportunity for a motivated Retail Manager who can take responsibility for store performance, staff coordination, customer service, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

As the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for:

Managing the day-to-day store operations.
Developing retail objectives and preparing and implementing operating plans, marketing strategies, advertising initiatives, and store improvement plans
Determining the products and brands to be stocked by reviewing product trends, sales trends, and customer preferences
Setting prices for merchandise to achieve required profit margins while ensuring compliance with liquor restrictions
Achieve financial targets and develop budgets.
Selecting suppliers and vendors and placing stock orders within budget
Overseeing promotional activities and ensuring effective presentation of products
Setting customer service objectives and ensuring high service standards are maintained
Managing team.
Ensuring the store operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures

Skill & Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

At least 3 years of full time or part time equivalent experience in retail management, preferably within liquor retail or a similar customer-facing retail environment
A relevant diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a qualification
Strong knowledge of retail operations, stock control, pricing, sales, and customer service
Ability to analyse sales trends and customer preferences
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Ability to manage suppliers, budgets, promotions, and day-to-day store operations
Understanding of liquor retail compliance requirements
Appropriate rights to work in Australia
