Job Description

GT RESORTS PTY LTD, is seeking an experienced Motel Manager to join their team in Wangaratta, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring high standards of guest service and hotel management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the motel and ensure guests receive a high standard of service.
  • Manage reservations, guest arrivals and departures, billing and other front office activities.
  • Recruit, train and supervise employees across different operational areas, including reception, housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Prepare staff rosters, monitor employee performance and support the development of a productive and cooperative workplace.
  • Deal with guest enquiries, concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor business income, expenses and occupancy levels and assist with preparing operational budgets and financial reports.
  • Review the financial performance of the business and identify practical ways to improve profitability and control operating costs.
  • Organise the purchase of goods and supplies and ensure sufficient stock is available for daily business operations.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance and general improvement work to ensure the property remains safe and well maintained.
  • Carry out regular inspections of rooms and common areas to maintain cleanliness, presentation and service standards.
  • Ensure the business complies with workplace health and safety requirements and other relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and coordinate with external authorities or service providers when required.
  • Oversee the planning and operation of functions, meetings, events and banquet services held at the property.

Skill & Experience

Relevant Diploma qualification supported by 3 years of relevant industry experience, demonstrating strong practical knowledge, technical skills, professional competence, and the ability to apply industry standards effectively in a range of workplace situations.
