Job Title Early Childhood Teacher
Salary Range $80,000 – $90,000 – depending on skills level and work experience + superannuation.

Overview:
Our clients are seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher for a warm, community-focused preschool. They value a holistic, play-based approach, a homelike environment, and learning through exploration. You’ll design a program aligned with EYLF, foster emotional security and creativity, and build strong family/community partnerships.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Pedagogy:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the service’s philosophy.
  • Employ intentional teaching strategies within a play-based learning environment to foster cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Lead engaging learning experiences across key domains, including literacy, numeracy, creative arts, and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Documentation:

  • Conduct detailed observations and use critical reflection to assess children’s learning and progress against individual and group goals.
  • Create rich and detailed portfolios and learning stories that make children’s learning visible to families and colleagues.
  • Use documented evidence to plan forward and ensure a dynamic, responsive curriculum.

Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Provide guidance and support to other educators within the room, modelling best practices in early childhood teaching.
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice among the teaching team.

Family & Community Partnership:

  • Build strong, respectful, and collaborative partnerships with families through formal and informal communication.
  • Lead family-teacher meetings and discussions about child development and learning goals.
  • Actively participate in community events and centre initiatives to strengthen community ties.

Compliance & Professionalism:

  • Ensure all practices meet the National Quality Standard and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all children.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the service’s quality improvement plan.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 year as an Early Childhood Teacher in a long day care or similar setting
  • Strong EYLF and NQS knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis (HLTAID012)
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Up-to-date vaccination status per policy
