Job Description
Undertake Geospatial Processing to support the core business activities of Geoimage with a primary focus on Satellite Image Processing, and creating derivative products and services that add value to Geoimage and its client base.
Key Accountabilities: Accountability for performance in the following areas –
Data Processing – Processing of data to meet or exceed client specifications, using designated hardware and software to produce high-quality products within specified timeframes. Maintenance and development of computer scripts that support processing workflows.
Team Engagement – Support of team members through constructive feedback. Providing direct assistance on projects when required to ensure the success of the whole team in meeting its objectives.
Client Management – Provide technical expertise and advice to clients and internal stakeholders as required.
Continuous Improvement – commitment to keeping abreast of new technology and software in relation to geospatial data processing and contributing to R&D as required.
Activities:
Process satellite data in accordance with the methods developed by Geoimage. Undertake analysis of satellite data and ancillary data on projects under the direction of specialist team members.
Train new and existing staff in processing techniques where applicable.
Provide advice and knowledge to key stakeholders including management, sales team and clients.
Maintain the scripts used by the Satellite Services Team for processing workflows.
Develop new scripts when required in consultation with the Satellite Services Manager, Project Manager – Satellite Services and the Technology Solutions Manager.
Maintain and improve Geoimage image processing procedures. Update existing documentation of processes as required on the company’s wiki and create new documentation where relevant.
Attend industry, academic, government events/webinars with the aim of building relationships with potential and existing vendors, clients and collaborators and to advance your own personal technical development and that of Geoimage.

Core responsibilities
Preprocessing of satellite imagery and associated spatial data. Orthorectification of satellite imagery. Mosaicking of the orthorectified imagery. Pan-sharpening of the orthorectified / mosaicked imagery. Enhancement of the final products. “Packaging” of final products for delivery to the client. Analysis of imagery as directed by the Geospatial Processing Specialist or Satellite Services Manager Documentation of procedures used for image/data processing and analysis when required. Direct communication with the client as required in a manner that ensures the successful delivery of the contracted products/service. Maintenance of processing scripts.
Ancillary responsibilities
Entry and editing of data records related to the Client Relationship Management system. Entry of data into the project management tool. Use of data manipulation, transformation and visualisation tools as the need arises. Skills Excellent written and oral communication. Excellent time management. Ability to work under limited supervision. Advanced skills in the use of PCI Geomatica, PCI GXL, ERDAS ER Mapper, Global Mapper. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Attention to detail. Methodical, process-oriented work practice. Propensity to learn quickly. Reasonable typing speed.
