Position Title: Full-time Power Systems Engineer

Salary: $80,000 + Superannuation

An Australian Private Company specialising in power systems modelling and studies focusing on renewal energy generation based in Sydney, is searching for a skilled power systems engineer to join their team and be a part of a highly technical team which can offer exposure to variety of power systems modelling and studies applications.

Key attributes

• Experienced user of PSS/E (load flow, dynamics, short circuit analysis as a minimum) and PSCAD/EMTDC, Digsilent PowerFactory power system modelling analysis tools.
• Experience in modelling and studies in relation to large scale generator connections (preferably solar farm, wind farm, battery storage systems) under Australian National Electricity Rules framework.
• Knowledge and good understanding of National Electricity Rules technical requirements in relation to large scale generator connections, and applicable AEMO’s templates and guidelines.
• Good understanding of system strength related aspects and technical requirements.
• Experience in general transmission network modelling and planning studies and investigations.

Required Skills: to excel in this role, you should possess:

·       Minimum 3-year work experience in power systems engineering

·       Minimum bachelor’s degree specialised in electrical engineering

• Experience in Python programming would be an added advantage
• Good report writing and presentation skills
• Ability to self-learn, technical curiosity, good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good team player
